The Hermantown Speech Team had a successful outing at the Section 7AA Tournament Saturday. The team placed fourth overall, with 12 entries sent to the final round and three students earning a spot at the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Class AA Tournament on April 20.
"I'm incredibly proud of the success the Speech Team saw at the section tournament and throughout the invitational season," head coach Marissa Stifter said. "Every speaker worked hard and gave their all."
Izzy Lampi placed first in Humor, Elyana Hewitt placed first in Great Speeches and Caitlin Cox placed third in Poetry to advance to the state tournament, which is set to take place at Shakopee High School.
COMMUNITY NIGHT - Thursday, April 11 - 6 p.m. - HS Auditorium
The Speech Team is hosting its annual Community Night Thursday, April 11 beginning at 6 p.m. in the High School Auditorium and then moving to breakout rooms until around 8 p.m. Community Night is an opportunity for the community to watch what the team has been working on all season long.
