Noah Blomquist and Keana Fox of Hermantown were deserving MSHSL Triple ‘A’ Award recipients in 2023-24, Hermantown Activities Director Alex White said recently.
The prestigious program honors high school seniors throughout the state who have a 3.0 or higher grade point average and participate in athletic and fine arts activities. Two award finalists are selected from each region (one boy and one girl).
“We were very proud to nominate Noah and Keana, who will continue to be amazing contributors to our society,” said White.
Blomquist, a 4.0 student (on a 4.0 scale), participated in Hermantown’s robotics, track, band and music programs. He will begin to study computer science at the University of Minnesota in the fall.
“We pride ourselves on pushing ourselves to be better academically and socially,” Blomquist said of his fellow Hermantown classmates. “Our rewards come from our determination and grit to get there.”
“I honestly didn’t expect to be nominated, and it’s pretty cool,” said Fox, who maintained a 3.998 grade point average while participating in volleyball, speech, and student council, among several other activities. She plans to attend Arizona State in the fall.
“We have an outstanding academic program at Hermantown, where students take academics seriously, and teachers are always available for us. A lot of students at our school could have been nominated for the Triple-A Award.”
Award recipients are selected through a multi-level process involving the League’s administrative regions and a committee of educational, athletic, and arts/activities leaders.
