Hermantown Cross Country

The quickly-improving Hermantown boys cross country running team will compete in the prestigious 25-team Hibbing Rotary XC Invite today.

"This meet should be a good gauge of where our varsity runners stack up against some of the top teams in the area," said Hawks coach Andy Wilcox. "Nine of the eleven teams from section 7AA will be there so this is an early look at what the section meet may look like."

Wilcox said the Hawks have been hard at work all season and have had the Hibbing Rotary XC Invite circled on the calendar "because they know this meet gives them an idea of what they may need to work on as they get closer to the end of the year and the section meet.

"This course (Hibbing Municipal Golf Course) has always been a good one for us and we have had many of our athletes get their personal best times here in the past," said Wilcox. "I am excited for today for all the runners and it is looking like great weather out there."
