Football -- at Esko, 5 p.m. Game Notes: The Hawks (5-1) have won three straight, including an impressive 56-12 Northeast Red home victory over Duluth East last Friday night. Hermantown is 4-1 in the conference, with defending champion North Branch and Duluth Denfeld at 3-1. The Hawks lost to the host Vikings 48-44 on September 13, and will wrap up regular season play Wednesday, October 16 against the Hunters. Hermantown is assured of a first-round playoff game. Meantime, Esko (3-3) snapped a two-game losing streak with a 35-0 home victory over Hibbing last Friday afternoon. Esko losses: 24-14 at home against Duluth, 47-6 at Pequot Lakes and 55-26 at Two Harbors.
